About
Hi! I’m Meg
I am a registered clinical psychotherapist.
I have loved horses and nature since I was a little girl and always appreciated the benefits connection to both can provide.
I am excited to combine my passion for horses and nature with my skills as a psychotherapist. I hold a BA of Counselling and Psychology, and first-class Honours in Psychology, with a thesis in the effectiveness of mindfulness-based approaches in mitigating suicide.
I have worked with diverse communities in urban and regional locations. And have worked with children, teens, adults and families. I have extensive experience in working with the impact of family violence and sexual assault and can offer support for other mental health challenges and well-being.
I have completed accredited training in:
Canine Assisted Psychotherapy (Therapy Dogs NSW)
Equine Assisted Somatic Psychotherapy (Centre of Experiential Equine Learning, Vic)
Working With Young People Who Have Experienced Family Violence (DVRCV)
Somatic Experiencing (SE). I am currently training in SE, which is a body-oriented approach to trauma recovery. SE also supports other stress-related challenges and disorders. It supports body awareness and connection with our nervous system. If you are curious about SE, please visit the SE international website for more information.
I use a relational, integrative approach to psychotherapy, mainly based in humanistic, experiential and somatic approaches.
Some modalities I draw on are internal family systems, attachment theory, mindfulness, trauma acceptance and commitment therapy T-ACT and narrative approaches.
I am trauma-informed, client-centred and always aim to establish safety and connection.
I am passionate about healthy communication and deepening self-awareness.
If you have experienced an adverse childhood and/or ongoing challenging interpersonal issues, I specialise in developmental trauma, complex trauma, family violence and sexual assault.
I also work with young people seeking mental health support, who are exploring their identity, and have experience working with ASD Level 1 & 2.
I will bring curiosity, authenticity, humour and compassion to our work together. I can provide sessions to individuals, young people and their supportive care givers.
I feel deeply passionate about embodied trauma recovery work. I believe that the body mind connection and working with our nervous system is integral to developing self-awareness and enriches our healing journey.

Our Services
-
Equine Assisted Therapy
Horses are insightful, sensitive and allow us to come as we are without judgement or expectation. They ask us to be present and aware and teach us that we can move in and out of regulation with ease by listening to our bodies.
Equine therapy sessions are a mix of somatic practice and equine facilitated learning. Practices may include being with the herd, leading, grooming, patting, or groundwork depending on your needs .
No mounted sessions are offered.
Equine therapy sessions support clients to focus on:
Present moment awareness
Communication
Safety and exploring boundaries
Safe touch and connection
Attachment and relationship building
Building confidence.
-
Canine Assisted Therapy
Similarly to equine therapy, clients may choose to work with our therapy dog Jet to focus on similar issues, challenges and goals.
As a certified canine assisted therapy dog, Jet can be included in sessions indoors and outside.
-
Nature-based Therapy
Nature-based sessions can include mindfulness skills, enjoying time outside by the dam, taking a walk around the property, bird watching, or being in the garden.
For some who find the clinical setting of a therapy room overwhelming a walk and talk outside is the perfect way to spend a session.
Connecting with nature can be a deeply personal experience. Nature-based therapy helps to develop regulation, connection and mindfulness.
*NOTE: we also have a clinic room if you would prefer to be indoors.
Testimonials
“Meg has an amazing capacity to work with my most complex parts that I bring into session. Her ability to keep me fully engaged and working hard has meant I have had incredible change processes in our time together. I love that we can have raw and deep conversations - so I’m learning about so much at the same time as processing emotional change.
Meg has an amazing ability to create a safe space to explore difficult feelings in. Highly recommend Meg for your therapeutic needs.”
“I feel safe in a safe place, feeling like I could say anything without being judged. I can be completely honest. What I like best about Meg is that I can do that, we can do things together, even over a computer screen and she’s really there for anyone when they need her.” - Gracie
“I feel safe with Meg to expose myself and my traumas and feel I hold myself accountable following therapy with Meg. She has helped me with connection, my nervous system and being in control. You really are amazing Meg, you have a way, and a great understanding of us but even more so a beautiful way of drawing the obvious out.” - Briony
Dear Meg
You’ve helped me tons throughout my problems and you’re always willing to listen and help.
Even when we have nothing to talk about we always end up talking about something.
You always inspire me to do things I never thought I could, I’m so glad I met you and I’m not sure what I would be like today if I hadn’t.
- Client, 12 years
“Being out in the paddock with Meg and the horses has been an incredibly positive and transformative experience for me. For years I struggled with talk therapy as I wasn’t getting the outcomes I was hoping for.
Out in the paddock Meg made sure I felt safe and heard. Being with the horses helped me to be present and process emotions within my body, rather than get stuck in my head, and create a lasting bond with them that I will cherish forever. I could not recommend equine therapy with Meg more.” - Charlotte
